Washington
Seattle gardens, Rainier, the Olympic coast, the North Cascades, the Palouse. Most of our weddings happen inside two hours of Renton.
Three circles
Distance changes the day more than almost anything else. It decides guest count, cost, permits and how much of the day is spent travelling.
Seattle gardens, Rainier, the Olympic coast, the North Cascades, the Palouse. Most of our weddings happen inside two hours of Renton.
Oregon’s coast and high desert, the Columbia Gorge, the Idaho panhandle, British Columbia. One to two days of travel each way.
Iceland, the Dolomites, Scotland, Patagonia, the American Southwest. Tess travels; you get one planner who is also the photographer.
Choosing well
A location is only right if everyone coming can actually get there. Several of our favourite spots are paved the whole way, and we will always tell you which ones are not.
Mountain roads open in July and close in October. The coast is at its most dramatic in winter. Gardens peak for about three weeks. Timing is half the decision.
National parks, state parks and city gardens all have their own rules on group size, chairs, arches, amplified sound and petals. Tess files the paperwork.
Every location has one hour where it is extraordinary and ten where it is ordinary. The timeline gets built backwards from that hour.
